Eagle Band Welcomes New Director
We are very excited to introduce you to Mr. Rusty Hart.
Mr. Hart was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Cabot, Arkansas. He earned his high school diploma from Cabot High School. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Arkansas Tech University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Leadership from Harding University. During his time at Arkansas Tech, Mr. Hart earned numerous academic and musical honors including being named to several Dean’s and President’s Lists, being named the Principal Tuba player in the Symphonic Band and University Brass Choir, as well as being named the 2006 Senior Brass Fellow.
Mr. Hart is currently finishing his 4th year as the Director of Bands at Magnet Cove High School. Mr. Hart’s bands have consistently earned “Superior” first division ratings and “Excellent” second division ratings in both marching and concert band competitions during his time at Magnet Cove. Recently, his high school band earned a total score of 189 out of 200 points at a music festival in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Hart teaches all aspects of his band program in Magnet Cove including High School Band, Junior High Band, Beginning Band, and High School Jazz Band.
Rusty’s professional affiliations include being a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, and Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association (ASBOA) where he is currently serving as the Region III secretary/treasurer. Mr. Hart is also currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Tech University Middle School Band Camp. Rusty and his wife, Lindsey, have one child. Their 10 month old daughter named Bella Claire Hart. Mr. Hart and his family attend First Baptist Church in Cabot.
I have confidence that Rusty can take over our band and take it to the next level. One of the ASBOA officers that I spoke with said “Rusty is one of the best young band directors in the state. I can see him headed for greatness.”
