PitcherKolton Lane Named to the 3A All State
and All-State Tournament Team

There is no doubt that the Eagle baseball team is looking forward to a bright future. Junior hurler Kolton Lane pitched well all year, but may have had his best game in the State Tournament as he led the Eagles to an upset victory over number 1 seed Greenland.

Ashton HarperLane earned All-State honors and was named to the All-State Tournament team as the Eagles made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Genoa-Central. Success in the state tournament ends the season on a positive note and paves the way for a bright future for the Eagles who will return all but three graduating seniors.

Coach Eddie Stephenson returned to the helm of the Eagle baseball team this year when Andrew Smallwood resigned to relocate with his family to Northwest Arkansas. Stephenson had previously coached at AB for eight years from 1994-2002 before taking a job at Little Rock's Central High School.

Eagle fans definitely have high expectations as this team loaded with sophomores matures and develops over the next two years. If nothing else, they should be fun to watch.
