Carpenter Wins It All!

Contratulations are in order once again for Luke Carpenter. With the pressure on, Luke birdied two of the last three holes to score a two stroke victory with a 1-under par 71 in the Arkansas State Golf Association’s boys high school overall tournament. His clutch 25 foot putt on 18 gave him the win over seniors Seth Sullivant of Mountain Home and Joshua Alford of Marion.

Following in his brother's footsteps, Luke has once again made AB Eagle golf among the best in the state.

The golf season is over but there are still tournaments that Luke and Corbin will be playing in, so please keep them in your prayers. Also, information about tryouts for next year's golf season will be posted as soon as they come out.

Golf Team

State Runner-Up!

The Eagles took second place this year in the boys 3A state tournament. Luke Carpenter was the overall medalist with a score of 69. He will advance to the overall tournament on Oct. 15 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock. The eagles lost by 6 strokes to Episcoplal Collegiate. Corbin Renner shot a 78, and tied for 6th place, Daniel Hopkins finished with a 98 and his brother Jack posted a 101.

Regional Runner-up!

In the Regional tournament the guys took a disappointing loss. The course was extremely wet due to three constant days of rain. "I just played awful today," said senior Daniel Hopkins, "but I am going to get out there and practice to get ready for state."

District Champions!

This year's Arkansas Baptist golf team went the whole season with only one loss. Going into the post-season they were ready. They won the Distict tournament with a win over Episcopal. It was a tough victory because the guys won on the second playoff hole.
