GraduationLittle Rock’s First Baptist Church was packed as family and friends gathered as diplomas were presented to forty seven graduates. Arkansas Baptist Salutatorian Morgan Rush reminded the class of 2010 that graduation did not represent an end for their class, but only a new beginning, after all that is why they call it commencement. May 17th was a night filled with both laughter and tears as various students recounted many memories made and shared over their years at AB.

As the ABHS Eagle Band played “Pomp and Circumstance,” the graduates entered the auditorium.  Students who had been at the school since kindergarten were recognized and presented with special gifts. Senior Connor Lawson was recognized as the first, second generation graduate of the Arkansas Baptist School System. He is the son of Heather Brown Lawson, a 1990 graduate of ABSS.

Salutatorian Morgan Rush presented the Salutatory address followed by Erin Jeffrey’s, Valedictorian, presentation of the Valedictory address. Both students thanked the school and faculty for their support over their time at ABSS. The Senior Class was challenged by both students to follow and serve God throughout their life. The ABHS Choir shared a beautiful arrangement of “Lean on Me” as part of the service.

The evening concluded with a beautiful reception in the LRFBC Fellowship Hall.

Congratulations to the class of 2010!
